About My Challenge
I'm attempting to do 2,000 push-ups in 18 days as part of The Push-Up Challenge to raise awareness and funds for mental health in Canada. This target represents the ~2,000 lives lost to suicide every day, worldwide.
I have first-hand experience with both myself, and people I care for immensely, not being able to find resources to help when dealing with mental illness. I managed to eventually get the help I needed but I know far too many who did not. Far too many beautiful humans who will never know that it DOES get better. You just have to keep moving.
My team and I are raising money specifically for the CMHA British Columbia-Kootenays where it can be challenging to access mental health resources. Some barriers include long wait times, a shortage of professionals, and geographic inequity. Please consider sponsoring us or sharing our link. And if you're feeling like you've been needing some sort of Kickstart this year, maybe this is a nudge to join us on our team, we'd love to have you!
