About My Challenge
From February 5–27, 2026, I will be completing 2,000 push-ups over 23 days to raise funds in support of the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA).
My personal journey with mental health has been complex and challenging. I have lived with severe anxiety for much of my life, though it went unrecognized for many years due to fear and uncertainty around seeking answers. Following the birth of my first child, I experienced severe postpartum depression, intrusive thoughts, and significant disruptions to sleep and appetite. During this time, I was referred to a psychiatrist and diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Social Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, and Postpartum Depression. Receiving these diagnoses brought conflicting emotions—both validation and frustration.
Exercise and sports have long been central coping strategies for me, though these became difficult to maintain through two pregnancies and subsequent C-section recoveries. When I returned to playing soccer, I sustained a torn patellar tendon during my second game back, requiring emergency surgery.
These experiences have profoundly shaped my desire to support others who may be struggling silently and unsure of where to turn. I have since dedicated my career to helping individuals as a Registered Clinical Counsellor. My lived experience allows me to support clients with authenticity, empathy, and a deep understanding of the challenges they face.
My goal is to raise $500 to support the CMHA in providing accessible mental health resources to individuals in need. Thank you for supporting this cause and helping to make mental health care more accessible for all.
