About My Challenge

Men are more likely to commit suicide, as they are taught not to talk about emotional pain or ask for help. This includes good/hardworking dads who are more likely to lose everything in a custody battle. The legal system often forgets about good dads. Custody is rarely shared; courts often favour moms, leaving good fathers with scraps of time with their kids (dads that go from seeing their kids every single day .... to every other weekend).

It won't matter if the separation is amicable or a battlefield. It won't matter how many times you were told you were loved. The pain is the same. You don’t just lose time with your kids. You lose the little things like good morning hugs/I love you dad, casual conversations and shared jokes, spontaneous time together (talks in the car or at the grocery store, check ins), etc.

Then birthdays come…and you’re not there to watch them blow out the candles. Holidays arrive….and the house is silent and people expect you to be in a good headspace.

People say, “time heals everything”. But it doesn’t.

I get it because I’ve been there. There were days I didn’t want to wake up. Nights I stared at the ceiling wondering if the pain would ever stop. Mornings where the weight of not being there for my kids almost crushed me.

However, I kept going and kept pushing. Sometimes you must go to war with yourself to fix yourself!

I will be completing 2,000 push-ups in 23 days in February for all the dads who’ve been through hell and kept going and for the ones who didn't make it.

Please support me as I #pushforbetter from February 5-27.
