About My Challenge
Hey friends! My names Kendra and I was born with a genetic condition called Ectrodactlyly!
Essentially I was born missing fingers and toes! It affects the way my hands/feet look, grip strength and a few other things but nothing wild. Throughout my life, I have been told that there are things that I can/cannot do, that I would face challenges in my life due to my disability and that I would have to accept these limitations. Especially when I started my fitness journey. All of these outside opinions and statements eventually took a toll on my already existing body dysmorphia and thus affecting my mental health immensely.
With the help of therapy and amazing resources allowing me to have options and find my place in the fitness community, I have amazingly put all of those opinions and comments thoroughly out of mind. I will happily continue to prove them all wrong by achieving goal after goal and putting myself first.
Mental health support and resources should be available for anybody and everybody. Regardless of situation. I will always stand by that.
