About My Challenge

Fired up to "push" hard in my training, for a great cause. I personally have been touched by suicide, I know many people who have lost family and friends to suicide, and I have beloved people in my life who struggle with suicidal ideation. Many of us are connected to this cause. Addressing mental health issues is no longer stigmatized, what with depression and anxiety experienced by so many people. And this is especially true for first responders, where taking care of our mental health has become more talked about, with more resources provided. I think this challenge is a great way to draw attention to mental health -- and of course physical fitness is an awesome way to help with mental health!

"I'm completing 2,000 push-ups in 23 days to raise awareness and funds for the Canadian Mental Health Association. Please support me as I #pushforbetter from February 5-27."
