About Our Challenge
Hi! My family and I are completing 2,000 push-ups in 23 days to continue the conversation around mental health and contribute to mental healthcare accessibility in Canada.
I would like to extend my gratitude to Nick Hudson for creating this initiative; I encourage everyone to read further into the significance of this challenge, beyond the hashtag/trend/physical implications.
Considering the fact that mental health struggles have impacted us all in one way or another, it is unfortunate how little we talk about it. I have never shied away from a good 'ol sit-down conversation about mental health, having published both a podcast of three years and poetry book on youth mental health as well as creating my high school's first mental health club. This is an exciting opportunity for me to once again use my voice to encourage us all to consider the mental and emotional climate within ourselves and in those around us.
Whether it be through strength training, swim, basketball, figure skating, dance, running, zumba, asanas, etc. everyone in my family has always had a dedicated movement practice, providing us spaces for vulnurability and catharsis. We are excited to step up to the challenege with hopes to raise funds for the CHMA.
- Julianna
Supporting CMHA National
Through a presence in more than 330 communities across every province and one territory, CMHA provides advocacy, programs and resources that help to prevent mental health problems and illnesses, support recovery and resilience, and enable all Canadians to flourish and thrive.
