About My Challenge

CGI is participating in The Push Up Challenge as part of the GVCA community to support mental health awareness and help break down the stigma that still exists, particularly in the construction industry.

Like many people in this industry, I have seen firsthand how mental health challenges can affect colleagues, friends, and people we care about, often quietly and without warning. Construction is built on resilience, problem solving, and showing up every day, but the pressure that comes with that work is real, and too often those struggles go unseen or unspoken.

The goal of 2,000 push ups over 23 days represents the approximately 2,000 lives lost to suicide every day worldwide. It is a sobering statistic and a powerful reminder of why initiatives like this matter, especially in an industry where mental health challenges are disproportionately high.

I am proud to be participating alongside colleagues and industry peers, using this challenge as a simple and accessible way to start conversations, raise awareness, and reinforce that it is okay to speak up, check in on one another, and ask for help when it is needed.

Thank you for supporting this important cause and for helping make mental health a visible and ongoing priority in our industry and our communities.

Supporting CMHA Ontario - Waterloo Wellington

Make a Difference with The Push-Up Challenge

When you fundraise for CMHA Waterloo Wellington through The Push-Up Challenge, you’re helping people access the mental health services they need—and deserve.

“I was scared of change and afraid of being labelled. I thought a diagnosis would define me forever. But getting help was the turning point.”

Thanks to CMHA WW, lives are transformed. One participant shared how a simple text from a CMHA WW worker led to counselling, support, and a renewed sense of hope. Today, they have a strong care network and a deeper understanding of their mental health—and their family is more informed too.
